The metal birds crashed Inside the New City The people all ran And the world watched As the two towers fell
The men were called out The planes were launched The bombs were dropped And the missles were fired After the two towers fell

Nighttime Air RaidI toss and turn on the worn mattress pad The depths of night obscuring my reality In the bright blue of artificial moonlight I glimpse my captor in its plaster web Sixty watt eyes dark beneath plywood wings Flapping in time with my fluttering heart Emitting mechanical squeaks from its joints Attempting to zero in on my location The wings beat slower as the hour grows late The bat waits for its moment with patience As the moonlight dims it shudders to life Dropping from its roost to claim mine. You know what both amuses me and annoys the shit out of me?

When you get into an argument with someone, and they go all-out and force you on the defensive, and then get angry as you frantically try to fend them off, as if you are being unreasonable in actually trying to defend yourself and your opinions.

These people can all go to hell.
